Brother Andy Sywenky – RIP

SYWENKY, Andrew Paul

On June 16, 2020 Andrew Paul Sywenky, at the age of 67 years, passed away in hospital. Andy was the first born to Nick and Annie Sywenky on August 27, 1952 in Vermilion, Alberta. He is survived by his wife Pat, and their three children: Marc (Alli), Erin (Ryan) and Matthew (Danielle), 5 grandchildren (Nathan, Lily, Jacob, Owen and Skyler), his brother John (Lesia), his sister Millie (Colin), nephews, aunts and uncles. Andy spent his career working for Epcor, volunteered much of his time to Scouts Canada and, as many knew, loved telling a good story. A private graveside service will be held at the Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery in Vermilion, where his ashes will be laid to rest alongside his parents. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to The Alberta Diabetes Foundation.

Big Andy gave a considerable amount of time and passion to IBEW 1007, and every one of us owe him our gratitude. He was a true Union man, who made personal sacrifices for the the greater good. A truly unselfish human being. We can ALL learn from the way he conducted himself as a Union Brother, and many of us certainly did. Running into Andy on the job, or on the street, always put a smile on your face. He made people laugh, what a gift that was. Rest In Peace, Andy.

On behalf of IBEW 1007, Jimmy Connor.
