Hello Brothers and Sisters,
There have been many questions asked about the potential CSU 52 strike with the City of Edmonton and what our stance would be as a fellow union. We stand in solidarity with CSU 52.
If you must report for duty and cross a picket line, approach the strike captain at your location, explain your situation and ask for permission to cross. If they do not allow you to cross and / or it is unsafe to do so, notify your supervisor immediately. Although we do not want to cross the picket line, you may not have a choice.
If you are approached to complete work that is CSU 52 work, please notify the hall so we can deal with the situation.
And finally, show your support for CSU 52, on your non-work time, by walking the picket line, or by bringing them coffee, food, etc. as the weather will more than likely be cold.
This course of action will be the best way to show our support while avoiding any discipline for our membership.
